Vision Forall

Vision Forall is designed to be implemented in to any existing ride share services, hence making it available for hire via smart-phone app. This interior is designed to comfortably fit 4 persons, regardless if they use a wheelchair, walker or not. Folding seats allow for extra space when a wheelchair is being used but can be deployed if a passenger decides to sit on it. To keep the wheelchairs in place and avoid movements during the ride, the clamps on the floor are designed to hold the wheels still. At the time of pickup and dropoff the unveiling doors open in two halves. The retractable ramp also will detect the surface next to the vehicle using sensors, making sure there will be no gaps from the vehicle and the ground surface.

Aera

Aera is a wireless hair dryer and mirror defogger designed to improve the daily bathroom experience. Throughout the ethnographic research we noticed that the bathrooms have a lack of space on the counters as well the users were frustrated with the fogged mirror taking long to dry after their shower. The wireless hair drying experience gives the user the freedom to take this device anywhere with them. The handle on Aera switches from hairdryer to defogger when snapped in. To defog the mirror, Aera can be mounted on the wall next to the mirror and turned on during or after shower. When not in use, this device can be stored on the same wall-mounted charger, making the counter more space efficient.

PineLite

In this project we wanted to explore cardboard as a material, and so we strayed away from creating a 3D form for forms sake and instead focused on the intricacies of what made cardboard cardboard. This lead to a simplistic cylindrical form but one that I feel is truly unapologetic in the way that it shows off the natural beauty of cardboard. The simplicity of the form allows the viewer to solely focus on the ripples of the corrugation, which are evenly lit due to it being a cylindrical form.

Aspen

Aspen is a set of two products with a smart-phone app compatibility. This set includes an air purifier designed to be mounted on the crib, assuring the air quality surrounding the baby is safe and clean at all times. It sends all data to the app, giving a record of the filter condition and air quality over any period of time. The air stream level can also be adjusted through the touch interface on top of the device and the app. The other accompanying product is a wearable heart rate and temperature monitor for the baby with an LED screen, worn on the baby's wrist at all times. By sending all data to the app parents and doctors can access the same data to make sure the baby is in stable conditions at all times. Additionally parents will get notified of any instability in baby's heart rate or temperature. The wearable monitor can be mounted on the air purifier for inductive charging when needed. Overall and by reporting the baby’s data, the doctor can communicate to the parents via the app. This will help reduce the number of doctor visits the premature mothers have to go through.
